Behind the programme
The story and purpose
Introduction
We hosted a dynamic webinar focused on reclaiming the narrative around breastfeeding.
The session tackled the cultural taboos and misinformation that often discourage mothers.
We explored breastfeeding not just as a biological function, but as a foundational pillar of public health that requires community-wide support and understanding.
Our objective
Myth-Busting: To identify and debunk common cultural and social myths that hinder successful breastfeeding practices.
Nutritional Education: To explain the unique immunological and developmental benefits of breast milk for infants.
Maternal Support: To provide practical techniques and mental health resources for mothers navigating challenges like latching issues or returning to work.
Advocacy: To encourage a supportive environment within families and workplaces, ensuring mothers have the space and time to nurse successfully.
The impact
The webinar improved participants’ understanding of breastfeeding and addressed prevailing misconceptions.
By addressing misconceptions in real-time, we saw a visible shift in the audience's confidence, with many fathers and partners asking how they could better support the journey.
The session successfully bridged the gap between clinical advice and lived experience. With participants joining from various regions, the webinar created a global support network, reinforcing that informed breastfeeding is a shared responsibility that fosters a healthier start for the next generation.
